ABOUT
The School of Basic and Applied Sciences (SBAS) was incepted in 2014 for the sustainable excellence in the field of research and academics. SBAS provides its traditional and ideals while keeping pace with advancements of the society. The motto ‘Dare to Dream’ enable us to achieve excellence and eminence in science education and research. The uniquely designed curriculum gives students the flexibility to choose multiple electives, which provides the opportunity to discover their academic passion and enhance their involvement in the learning process. The School offers courses leading to B.Sc., M.Sc. degrees in Biotechnology, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Microbiology Physics, Zoology and M.A. in English. The School also offers Ph.D programmes in Biotechnology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Microbiology Physics, Zoology and English.

MISSION
→ To attract people from diverse social, economic and ethnic backgrounds while maintaining a level of excellence to give them statewide, national and international recognition.
→ To strengthen support for a dynamic faculty dedicated to teaching, mentoring and research.
→ To prepare students with scientific temperaments and enhance competency among them in the field of science and technology.
→ To establish collaboration with industries and research organizations.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
PO1: Students will be able to articulate and describe relative motion. Inertial and non inertial
reference frames.
PO2: Apply knowledge of thermodynamics, sound waves, and light waves to explain natural
physical processes and related technological advances.
PO3: The objective of the course is to equip the B.Sc. students with the mathematical
techniques that he/she needs for understanding theoretical treatment in different courses
taught in thisclass.
PO4: Provide students with a broad understanding and appreciation of the physical principles
and laws governing the universe.

Humans have always been curious to observe nature and analyze its ways, and have made consistent efforts to unravel its understanding and role into their daily lives. This has led to the development of science today. "Science aims to elucidate universal truths of the nature and discover its fundamental laws and principles", and the practice of science has led to the prosperity of human society.
The School of Basic & Applied Sciences at Maharaja Agrasen University dates back to 2014, when there were three departments (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). It now offers undergraduate courses (B.Sc.) in Non-medical and Medical and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. It also offers Postgraduate courses in Physics, Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Mathematics, Biotechnology and Microbiology, Zoology and English. The School also offers Ph.D. in niche areas of Sciences and English.
Since establishment, both the Faculty and the students have been at the forefront of science research and education and have produced many outstanding accomplishments and trained outstanding individuals. By adhering to our Charter and maintaining the tradition of excellence, the school will continue to pursue educational and research activities that will open up pathways for the sustainable development of an advanced human society.
