The Ombudsperson at Maharaja Agrasen University (MAU) functions as an independent appellate authority focused on the redressal of student grievances.
In accordance with UGC (University Grants Commission) and AICTE guidelines, the Ombudsperson acts as a neutral third party to resolve disputes that could not be settled by the university's internal Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC).
Key Functions and Responsibilities

- Impartial Inquiry & Resolution
- The Ombudsperson is responsible for conducting an impartial inquiry into the grievance. They may ask for relevant documents, hear both the student and the university representatives, and examine the facts objectively.
- They ensure the resolution process is transparent and fair, free from conflicts of interest.
- Timely Disposal of Cases
- Under standard UGC regulations, the Ombudsperson is typically required to resolve appeals within a specific timeframe (often 30 days from the receipt of the appeal) to ensure students do not face prolonged uncertainty.
